The prime objective of the management of S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED is to provide
services in a manner that conforms to contractual and regulatory requirement. In
order to achieve this objective, it’s in our policy to establish and maintain an efficient
quality assurance programme planned and developed in conjunction with all
management functions.

Corporate Cashes Policy

This CASHES Policy is designed to enable every member of staff of S.D. ONAIWI
NIG. LIMITED work and operate within safe limits. It’s also to acquaint our clients
with our safety Goals and Objectives. Every member of staff and sub-contractor
employee must plan and execute their work in accordance with this policy.


We have considered the dynamic nature of operating in the business environment
before formulating this policy. Strict compliance with the rules and regulations herein
is expected to promote safety and productivity while we strive to meet our client’s
aspirations.


In S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED, safety is everybody’s business, hence our slogan
that everyone is his own “best” safety officer.

Safety Policy

In S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED, safety and health is of prime importance and it
must be ensured that all working practices, processes and procedures adopted in the
execution of our work, affords maximum protection to the employees, crew
members, general public and proper attention shall be paid to conservation of the
environment.


Our practices, processes and procedures shall embrace active approach to safety
consideration. This policy will prevent injuries, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions,
environmentally unsound situation and bring about preservation of life and property,
protect the confidentiality of our client’s information, and adequately be sensitive to
the concern of host communities. To this end, unsafe acts shall be corrected and
mitigated against future occurrence by Line Management. This policy ensures equal
importance is given to safety and health as other businesses. Where required,
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shall be provided and used.


The management of S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED is firmly committed to health
and safety in our processes and procedures

Code of Work Practice

This area covers work plans, the use and protection systems for tools, safety of personnel and code of conduct when handling client’s information. PLANS Scope of contract work shall be agreed with the clients to ensure that there is no ambiguity in the understanding of the objectives of the contract.

 

PERSONNEL

– It is the aim of S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED to adequately protect its personnel and clients from harm occasioned by untoward incidents. To this end, full personal protective equipment shall be issued to each staff; it is compulsory that each employee must put it on, on work site. – It is the policy of the company for supervisor and foremen to teach apprentices work procedures and safety rules.

 

SITE SAFETY Where and when required,

– During mobilization only equipment and materials certified by client shall be mobilized to site.

 – House keeping shall be maintained on a continuous basis.

– Demobilization shall include the removal of all company’s assets and complete site cleaning before handing over to client.

Policy Implementation

S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED is committed to effective and efficient provision of services to our valued clients at the most competitive cost, while ensuring that the quality, integrity and corporate personality of our clients are upheld in high esteem. In pursuance of this policy, S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED shall;

a) Allocate sufficient resources to provide and maintain conditions and places of work that are practically safe and healthy.

b) Ensure all known safety factors are taken into account in the design, operation and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment.

c) Ensure employees are informed about job related hazards.

d) Ensure that adequate instructions and induction are given to all employees on all aspects of tasks before being assigned to such tasks.

e) Provide approved personal protective equipment and ensure that their proper use is understood.

f) Operational procedures are reviewed quarterly to ensure they are current and relevant.

Alcohol and Drugs Policy

 S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED thinks substance abuse impairs an individual’s ability to perform properly the work on safety, efficiency, and productivity. The use of prohibited and non-prescribed drugs is a danger to the user and fellow workers and will not be tolerated on the project at any time or under any circumstances. No alcohol can be consumed on the project or in the camp during working hours. Under no circumstances is alcohol to be on, or consumed on work locations at base or in the field unless specifically approved. Under no circumstances is any person to be under the influence of alcohol while on duty. Employees must be aware of company, client and sub-contractor policies on drugs and alcohol – the use, misuse, possession, distribution, or sale of alcohol, substance drugs or related articles is prohibited. Illegal drugs and unauthorized consumption of alcohol are not allowed on S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED operations and their use is cause for dismissal. Prescription and over-the-counter drugs may also impair your safety performance at work, consult your physician and/or label instructions as to any work-related risk. Advise your immediate supervisor of any drugs being used so proper safety precautions can be taken. The employee has the responsibility to report the use of all prescription or non[1]prescription drugs or medications prior to reporting to duty. Personnel contravening the contents of this policy will be liable to severe disciplinary measures.

 

 Environmental Policy

It is the S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED policy to conduct its operations in a manner that assures optimum protection of the environment. In addition to careful compliance with relevant laws and regulations, waste reduction and efficient use of natural resources are keys to achieving this objective.8 Smoking Policy S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED recognizes the risk to individuals who smoke. The company also recognizes the risk to non-smokers who may be subjected to “passive” smoking by associating with those who do smoke. In offices a non-smoking policy may be adopted in all public areas and smoking areas defined and segregated. On base camp smoking will not be permitted around refueling areas. Other areas where smoking is banned will be indicated by signs

Quality assurance is complying with applicable standards and specifications in product lines and services. S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED is committed to Total Quality Management in product and service delivery.

Total quality is a continuous process. Each employee is encouraged to participate through effective communication within the company and the client. The company provides highly motivated and structured training and enabling environment for employees to attain their full potentials.

Although the Managing Directors of S.D. ONAIWI NIG. LIMITED carries the responsibility for the company’s commitment to Quality, all members of staff are required to accept responsibility for implementation and compliance to achieve Total Quality Management throughout the Company.
